Seroxat, Paroxat: Nicht für Kinder und Jugendliche! |

Das britische Commitee on Safety of Medicines ( CSM ) warnt Ärzte vor der
Verordnung des Antidepressivums Paroxetin ( Tagonis/ Seroxat ) an Kinder und Jugendliche
unter 18 Jahren.
Eine Studie hat ergeben, dass Paroxetin in dieser Altagsgruppe nur eine begrenzte
Wirksamkeit hat und die Suizidgefährdung erhöht sei.
Todesfälle hat es allerdings nicht gegeben.
Für Erwachsene gebe es keine Hinweise auf ein erhöhtes Suizidrisiko.
Des weiteren wurde darauf hingewiesen das Medikament
nicht abrupt abzusetzen.
